Description
This amusing insect was made with white palm leaves (thinner and more delicate) and green palm leaves (more mature). In the process of making this palm grasshopper, María Hernández utilised different tools, such as a wooden needle to sew the plaited palm leaves, an iron needle for the tomizas (palm rope), a small needle to prepare the palm leaves, a knife and scissors and of course her hands, as the traditional craft is handmade.
