Description
The Jable box was made with ceramic clay and a black glaze. The inside has also been decorated with bits of black glaze. To make this ceramic box Pitoya, the artisan behind Caracola, had to fire it twice; the first time at 980ºC after which the glaze could be applied and the second time at a temperature of 1250ºC. The ceramic paste used is stoneware which consists of clay, silica, quartz and feldspar. It’s known for its density and fire resistance.
