About me

Jewellery craftsman. Our goldsmith, Bernhard Glauser, grew up in the Berner Oberland, the Swiss Alps in the canton of Bern, where he initially focused on a future in the industry. After finishing his apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, the urge to use his artistic creativity and construct pieces from start to finish led him to retrain as a Goldschmied (jeweller) and he worked as a goldsmith in Günter Krauss’s workshop in Spiez, Switzerland, until 1991. Over the years, while studying and working as a goldsmith in the workshop, he took several advanced courses in gemstone setting, hand engraving, copperplate etching for printing, gemstone carving, and chasing, among other skills, at the Bern School of Design (Schule für Gestaltung Bern). In October 1996 he made a change in his life and moved to one of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura, leaving his real passion aside for a while to work in the tourism industry. Three years later, he resumed his profession and created his own precious metalwork and jewellery studio at home, where he continues working and receiving customers today. Alongside this work, he started a project in 2010 in collaboration with Lidia Núñez (Sedarte) under the name “CABRACADABRA”.

About my work

“One of my passions is creating pieces using various precious metal alloys, gemstones (quartz, rubies, sapphires, emeralds…), plastics, shells, etc.; obtaining effects that would not be possible with conventional technology; devising unique pieces of jewellery that reflect my ideas, impressions and feelings.

As well my own creations, I also do special orders, which can be produced to the customer’s specifications or developed jointly. My work includes individual wedding and partner rings that tell personal stories. I also do consultations and repairs, rework inherited jewellery with a more modern or timeless design, melt down antique pieces from which new works are created with individual designs… Proper repair and cleaning require an experienced jeweller.”

Fuerteventura

“My work reflects the natural beauty and contrasts of the island of Fuerteventura: the basalt rock, the sea, the sand… This inspiration combined with the desire for perfection in craftsmanship and artistic passion leads to the creation of unique pieces of jewellery.”
